Goku, Gohan, Veggie: Can’t Fight the Moonlight

This is my first time writing in the DBZ Category. I’m not really big on this show, so don’t expect to see very many from me…but I needed another anime to write about for…well, you’ll see…and my brother specifically asked if I could write this. He came up with idea while listening to the radio with me. “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” came on, and for some reason, we thought of the Saiyans. (it fits, doesn’t it?) This is the second fanfic in my “MISSING MUSES” saga—the first can be found in the Gundam Wing category, in case you get lost at all. The next chapter will be in the Digimon section, if it interests you at all. Finally, I can’t spell for my life, I know, so be gentle in reviews,’ kay?

*blinkie* This is also one of my LONGEST one-shots to date…

Me: <talking on her Nokia cell phone> What do you mean, you can’t find them anywhere? *pause* Of course not! You know every time I use you guys for a fic, I use you ALL…that didn’t come out right. *pause* Une, too? Are you sure they’re just not out on a mission or something? *pause* <sigh> Anyways, thanks for letting me know, Qua-chan. <pause> Okay, I’ll tell her to lay off the Iced Tea…but no promises! <hangs up the phone> I don’t believe this; first my muses…then Akane and Ranma…then Ruki, Jenrya, Renamon and Terriermon…and now three members of the G-universe! Where could Wufei, Heero, AND Lady Une possible have gone…

As per usual, the Authoress is hanging around her realm, though the lack of muses in her midst is preventing her from receiving an enslaughter of inspiration. She currently sits in her black beanbag chair…only this time, rather than her fic-writing computer, she’s on one off to the side, playing Morpheus. While downloading The Real Folk Blues (from Cowboy Bebop—it’s such a good song!), her little brother…known to some as *Mallet Boy*…wanders in, mallet in hand as always.

*Mallet Boy*: Hey, Jennie, wanna hear a cool song?

Me: It’s not the “DOOM” song again, is it? (1)

*Mallet Boy*: Of course not!

Me: Good. Last time, it took you me three hours to shut you up. All right, what’s the song?

*Mallet Boy*: <takes a DEEP breath> Baka Baka Baka Baka Baka BakaBakaBakaBakaBakaBaka—

Me: <groans> Why me?

*Mallet Boy*: But I though you like Ranma ½

Me: I do; it’s your singing I can’t stand…

In that moment, a light bulb suddenly appears over her head, signaling an idea. After turning the light off, the devil horns appear as she turns to her center computer, and starts typing.

*Mallet Boy*: <peeks over her shoulder> Whatcha up to?

Me: A new fic.

*Mallet Boy*: Cool. Can I help?

Me: I guess so…after all, you know more about this category than I do…

*snap*

The Authoress and sibling find themselves in a luxurious medieval-styled castle, conveniently in the throne room. The Authoress has changed for the occasion, wearing a beyond-the-floor-length emerald dress with v-neck collar and long sleeves, a silver crown slightly too small for her head, and (as always) her silver necklace with an “A” pendant hanging down from it. Her four earrings (two per ear) have vanished, seeing as they rarely pierced ears in those days. *Mallet Boy*, on the other hand, struggles uncomfortably in a navy-blue Prince ensemble, cape and all, outlined in gold trimmings. The only difference in his outfit is, instead of the usual sword, his trusty mallet is sheathed beside his belt.

*Mallet Boy*: <looks around> I liked the Western theme you did last time better.

Me: <shrugs> Well, with my latest Digimon fic-in-progress, I’ve got “Midieval” on the brain.

That wasn’t all she had done, however…located in various corners (…and in some cases, in various positions) of the room are various characters from DBZ:

-Gohan and Videl stand in the doorway, talking amongst one anther and looking utterly confused.

-Goku, Chichi, Bulma, and Vegeta were off the right, the first three putting up with non-stop rantings…

Me: <rolls her eyes, covering her ears> Gawd, Veggie…have you been taking lessons from Wufei or what?

-Mirai Trunks, Krillin, 17, 18, Roshi…

Roshi: That’s master Roshi to you!

Me: Keep dreaming, hentai.

…Mr. PoPo, Chaotzu, Piccolo, Dende, and Chibi Trunks were all off to the left.

-Finally, kawaii little Goten was standing directly in front of the gigantic, gold throne and the silver, slightly-smaller throne. The Authoress had to use every ounce (which totaled to just about an ounce) of self-discipline she had not to glomp the adorable little 8-year-old on the spot. He, along with the rest of the DBZ gang, found himself in typical medieval noble-type clothing. Oh, yeah…Goku’s still dead. See the halo? …not above me! You should know better than that! Above Goku! GOKU! See halo? Good.

It may be noted at this point that unlike usual, a lack of detail has been incorporated into this fic…but then, the Authoress is feeling quite lazy this evening and doesn’t feel like it.

Vegeta: <who hasn’t taken a breath of air since he got here> …and I want to know RIGHT NOW why in HFIL we were dragged HERE, of all places!

Me: Sheesh…you’re even more annoying than the show says you are. <turns to rest of the group> Welcome to my castle, Z-fights and company. My name is Jennie-chan, also known as the fanfiction authoress DragonBlond 04, and you all are my…and my brother’s…

*Mallet Boy*: You will bow before Jim Smiley! (2)

Me: <to him> Don’t start that again. <back to DBZ gang without missing a beat> …victims for the day.

Gohan: Um…forgive me for being rude, but when did you start writing Dragonball fics?

Me: <shrugs> Since my brother begged. ‘sides…<blanks out for a minute> More than a quarter of the Gundam Gang seems to be missing, and they were my favorite characters to torture…er… “borrow”

DBZ gang: <sweatdrop>

*Mallet Boy*: Jim Smiley is NOT amused.

Me: Oh, shut it, JJ…if you’re Jim Smiley, I’m GOR. (3)

*Mallet Boy*: ALL HAIL GOR!

Me: <hangs head in hands> why do I provoke him? <picks head up> Anyways, I’ve got more fics to write, not to mention I’ve already wasted three full pages, so let’s get this over with. We’re gonna do some song parodies today, kiddies!

Goten: <hops—literally—up to Authoress, beaming> Songs? Cool! Can’t I go first! I know just the song, too! It’s really cool and I think you’ll love it and I wanna sing it, so can I?

A nod from the Authoress…despite the subtle warnings (mainly a twenty-foot tall billboard screaming “NO!!!!!”) from Chibi-Trunks AND Gohan…and Goten beams, opening his mouth to sing:

Luckily for the rest of the group, the little boy was so hyper that he started skipping as he sang, eventually skipping straight out of the room and down the corridor to the right…

Me: O…kay…. <pulls out clipboard list> Veggie! Goku! Gohan! You guys’re up first!

Vegeta: <been trying for the past five minutes to blast the authoress, only to find that in this world, she and her sibling seem to be not only immortal, but completely unaffected by ki blasts> Give me ONE good reason why I should listen to an ONNA—

A frying pan from behind forced him to quickly rethink that sentence.

Vegeta: —a WEAK EARTHLING ONNA—

*WHAM*

Vegeta: er…YOU! <ducks, waiting to get hit, but Bulma put away the weapon>

Me: Tell you what, Veggie. I’m a reasonable Authoress, so I’ll give you two choices: either cooperate with me and go home as soon as we’re done…or I’ll send you off to Sweet Sharie for a WEEK!

Vegeta: Oh, sweet mother of Kami! Anything but that!

Me: <*^_^*> I thought so. Gohan! Stop flirting with Videl and get over here NOW!

Gohan: <blushing, stumbles over> I wasn’t flirting. We were just…talking…

Me: <rolls her eyes> Suuuuure you were…but I’ll save that concept for another fic. Right now…CUE THE MUSIC!

It’s silent for nearly a full moment, before Bulma gets up the nerve to speak up.

Bulma: …aren’t you going to say anything?

Me: Just wait.

Bulma: Wait? What are we waiting for?

Me: You’ll see…

As if on cue…you guessed it! Goten returns, crashing in from a nearby window, landing on the floor, and skips around the room without missing a beat.

Me: <innocently> Oh, PoPo! Chaouzu! Get your clown/mime little arses out here now!

At the sight of the clown and chibi-mime, *Mallet Boy* (in order) Screams like a girl, faints, wakes up, clutches his mallet, grabs a Kool-Aid…

Me: <shrugs> we’re all out of Capri Sun
